The Room Insider: Rachel Goldflam
Q: What is a marketing hill you are willing to die on?
I am very passionate about the power of brand marketing. I am a fierce advocate for ensuring a well-planned top-of-funnel investment to fuel the mid and bottom funnel and ultimately drive conversion. I strongly believe that you must have strong brand initiatives to support performance tactics. While immediate ROI can be challenging to measure, the long-term impact fuels growth across all channels.
Q: How do you stay motivated during a hectic week? What activities or habits energize you throughout the day?
I ALWAYS start my day with a coffee that I make in my Keurig at home. Some may not agree but I find it absolutely delicious. I use an Original Donut Shop K-cup and three tablespoons of Natural Bliss vanilla creamer. I'm not human until I take my first sip! I am also always motivated by my two amazing daughters, Jolie (13) and Jordyn (10). Their creativity, limitless energy, and curiosity provide endless inspiration!
Q: Imagine you have an unlimited budget for a campaign or PR stunt. What wild idea would you bring to life?
As we continue to grow our international footprint at Veronica Beard, I'd love an unlimited budget to partner with globally recognized talent to reach audiences across geographies. Given that VB has such wide appeal, it would be incredible to find diverse talent that crosses generations. For example, a concert series featuring renowned female singers - think Beyonce, Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Aretha Franklin, Taylor Swift, Adele, Rihanna, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, and Madonna - all wearing Veronica Beard as they perform. At VB we refer to these trailblazers who embody strength, ambition, and individuality as the "movers and shakers." They redefine what it means to be modern and fearless and are the muses of our brand. I'd also love to include a charitable element generated from concert proceeds since giving back is a core value of Veronica Beard. Merch opportunities would be endless!

Q: What core principles or values have guided your decisions throughout your career?
I believe that you always lead by example. It is critical to embody and practice the values and work ethic that you want to encourage in others – not through lip service, but through consistent and concrete actions. I have found that this way of leading builds trust and motivation and creates clear expectations and standards for success.
Q: Outside of work, what is a topic you could talk about for hours?
I LOVE Broadway. I could talk for hours about the latest musicals and plays, new cast members, and the hottest new directors and choreographers. I have a Playbill collection from every Broadway show I have ever seen and am running out of space in my New York City apartment! I'm currently obsessing over the score to the musical Six and have had it on repeat for the past few weeks. The latest topic for all of us theatre kids is, of course, the big-screen adaptation of the musical Wicked which I plan to see this weekend!
Q: Take out your phone and pull up your camera roll. Tell us about the last photo you took.
The last photo I took is of my amazing mother-in-law blowing out the candles on her 70th birthday cake this past weekend. It was such a special night being together on Long Island with our family and celebrating the incredible person she is to all of us. The last screen shot I took is of Nicole Kidman (happy scream!!!) wearing the Veronica Beard Taylor Two-Ton Wide-Leg Jean while at the Grand Ole Opry.
