Room Finishings

Hello everyone. In the past, I relied on multiple independent Dynamo scripts for various tasks like

1. getting parameters
2. setting values of types to each room
3. generating floors
4. generating walls
5. setting ceiling heights
6. recording data to geometry
7. recording data to rooms

There were too many buttons with fewer functions, making it cumbersome and time-consuming to manage.

Let's introduce a refactoring to the single plugin with multiple functions:

AR_Finishings.

New plugin brings all these functionalities together in a single, easy-to-use tool through one WPF interface.

Generation part:

Floors. Customizable Door Opening Cuts:

• Choose how door openings are cut – inside the room, along the wall’s centerline, or on the wall’s outer boundary.

Ceiling Generation:

• Generate ceilings with height options, a feature that wasn’t available before 2022 version of Revit.

Walls.

• Create finishing walls with the ability to offset them up or down from the ceiling, and additionally assign properties to walls that surround structural columns.

This makes it easier to reassign materials later if necessary and is also reflected in the schedule.

Real Skirtings:

• Create actual skirting geometry by walls with Height option and precise cutouts for doors, unlike the previous versions that only recorded lengths in the room parameters.

Value setting part:

Room Values in Geometry Elements:

• Automatically populate room numbers and names in geometry elements, saving you time and ensuring accuracy.

Geometry Values in Each Room:

• Record multiple types of each category and divide areas within rooms, neatly organized in multi-line parameters.

AR_Finishings makes your Revit workflow more efficient and enjoyable, combining all necessary functions into one plugin.
