Director of Public Affairs and Press Secretary — Office of Ronald Reagan

Member, Board of Trustees, Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute

As a young professional fresh from college, I joined what came to be known as the Reagan Revolution.? Marveling at the majesty of the White House and occasional glimpses of the President’s towering figure in the halls of the West Wing, I felt enormous personal pride about the privilege it was to serve America, to work in such a sacred home steeped in history, and support the ideals of Reagan’s singular vision.

Following the White House, I moved to the Reagans’ beloved California and was, once again, honored to serve Ronald Reagan – the overwhelmingly popular former President and global statesman.? This time, I had a closer, more personal vantage point which allowed me to observe the way he genuinely connected with Americans – ALL Americans -- making them feel heard and valued, while preaching conservative principles of a leaner government, impenetrable military might, a robust economy, and palpable national pride.? I watched him demonstrate tenderness and empathy without hesitation daily, convey hard lessons with gentle, well-chosen words, and exude grace, humility, kindness and humor in large doses in every aspect of his public and private life.?

Guided by his faith and an innate belief that America was and is the envy of the world (in spite of challenges and imperfections), he inspired each one of us to believe that we could achieve and embrace a more peaceful and aspirational America – that we could become the best versions of ourselves.? Regardless of policy or political party, Americans knew Reagan’s life was built on a foundation of purpose, not pettiness.? Americans knew he was guided by a strict moral code, not polls and projections.? Americans believed he represented our greatest hope for peace, prosperity and purposeful leadership.? These were the virtues of a great man, a great leader, a man for the moment in history, and a legacy that burns brightly now and always.

https://open.substack.com/pub/justice4all/p/cape-fear-the-corruption-and-political?r=o62no&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web Eighty traffic stops in four years. Five robberies directed by a corrupt local District Attorney and Sheriff and County and State officials with no concern for the Rule of Law, Ethics or basic human decency. Home invasion and death threats by armed Sheriff Deputies with AR-15s and shotguns pointed at my head and at my dog "Boomer's" head while two young children were mere feet away on a second floor. False arrest. False imprisonment. Federal & State officials at the highest levels dismissed and denied the brutal crimes occurring in Southeast NC for many years. The FBI, US DOJ, public officials & law enforcement refused to act even in defense of child victims. Death would have been preferable to my fate for being principled at a cost of ruining my own life & enduring years of constant torture, violence, irreversible damage & tax-funded smear campaigns completely invented "stories" by bribed "reporters" eager to profit from their own absence of ethics, integrity, morality, empathy, human decency and any semblance of Christian virtue.

President Reagan's legacy is a standard that towers above the present political leadership. Sadly, the minion-sized political figures of the present age have absolutely no clue about how to behave altruistically but decently. This is a sad commentary on how society has devolved, allowing animal savagery to emerge triumphant. The vicious divisiveness has plunged this country into the new dark ages.
