Roy Freund, 5 Years at MWSCO

Roy Freund worked at Crenlo for 24 years.?He was running the stockroom at Plant 1 when he would see Danny Mensink regularly delivering to Crenlo as part of his MWSCO route.?Danny encouraged Roy to apply for employment at the Rochester store.?Roy was hired as an Inside Sales Representative but his skill set with Shipping & Receiving quickly stood out and it was a natural fit for him to transition to this area of the store. MWSCO helped Roy obtain his CDL and then once a Route Sales Representative position opened in Rochester Roy took that position.?It takes courage to leave a company you have worked at for 24 years for a new position elsewhere, but Roy was ready for a? change.?He appreciates that MWSCO is family owned and that he is not treated like a number. Working for a large employer for many years helped Roy appreciate several things about MWSCO right away.

When asked what he likes most about his job Roy explained that working with customers and having the ability to make them happy.?Having great follow through and remembering small things they tell you and then following through however necessary are important skills on the route.? He also enjoys seeing the different applications, processes and end product that our customers create.?The three words he would use to describe MWSCO are family, friendly and helpful.?

He worked at World Aerospace in Maple Grove doing calibrations and inspections for five years right out of high school and this was an interesting job from his past.?The equipment that he was inspecting ended up being a part of space shuttles or Boeing jets. He needed security clearance for this job because of the military parts he worked with.

Something most would not know about Roy is that he and his wife Denise got married on a glacier in Alaska.?The two and their now adult children Faith & Wesley traveled to all 50 states as a family over the years.?They even went back to Alaska with their kids to celebrate their 25-year wedding anniversary on that same glacier!?Today Roy enjoys spending time with family and also enjoys fishing. Roy is hopeful that MWSCO’s future will mean continued growth and the opportunity for the routes to grow with new business.
