Romeo & Juliet/ Romeo e Giulietta scene in Italy

On my last trip to Tuscany three years ago, we visited the magical old town of Pienza on a hot August afternoon. As most of the cafe bars were closed due to the "siesta", I rushed to the most famous palace in town, of course, built on the top of a hill, the palace of the Capulets' scenes from Franco Zeffirelli film Romeo & Giulietta from 1968, Palazzo Piccolomini. The palazzo was built between 1459–62 by Pope Pius II (Bartolomeo Piccolomini), an important figure for his time, in the city of Pienza,?in Siena province.

As it was the 50th anniversary since the movie was first released in London, the whole palace was set with different vivid movie scenes and posters, as well as a tour guide sharing about the filming scenes history on the top of the palazzo's own and Pope Pius II incredible stories.

It's nice when clouds send you reminders of what you did on Aug 8 3 years ago...

Time back is time back.
