Romanticizes 4IR While Shutting Students Out of Institutions of Higher Learning

It boggles my mind how South Afrika and its institution of learning romanticizes 4IR trends WITHOUT any infrastructure, resources and manpower but they can't even saw the seeds that will be needed to make the country better.

Why should students protest and loose lives in order for government to act on something that it has given to the people five years ago?

Why mara? How is 4IR going to be a "thing" without education of the young? By the way, South Afrika has NOT pass the 3IR. The country doesn't have affordable and reliable energy sources, which are important in any industrial development.

These students protests is an aftermath of the impacts of COVID-19 that mostly disadvantaged rural and poor people in this country. Instead of being supportive to students who can't afford class registration and other fees, the department of education and together with minister of finance, they shut students out of the "key to success" the politicians always tell youth to strive for but now the government turn their backs of the students.

The state is able to bail out some SOEs but is unable to truly budget for higher education. Though President Zuma gave the promise of fee-free tertiary education in December 2017 for poor students, it was not kept by the current President and that's why there's Fees Must Fall Movement 2.0: Financial Exclusion Movements.

It would be great to have good policies that would better help students from poor households with financial aid to support students further their studies and to keep the hope for better future instead of making them a statistics on the unemployed and under-employed youth.

Political and governmental intervention is right now in order to see their 4IR dream to come true. Political rhetoric and posturing should stop but start to think ahead knowing that everyone has been negatively impacted by the global pandemic and now is time to try support those most in need.
