Rolling out the red carpet for Darren O’Connor’s Cohesio arrival

I believe the Cohesio team has all the ability and aptitude needed to really shake up theAsia Pacific (including Australia and New Zealand) logistics industry in the next year. We have the ideal blend of experience, influence and agility - but transforming that potential into a legacy is a very different step to talking about it. Securing the expertise and nous of Darren O'Connor, a man who has flourished in a change-driven sector for nearly 20 years, is a massive deal.

To say Cohesio's new Director of Operations is well-known among our professional circle is an understatement. He's a giant in the industry with a massive footprint marked by his wealth of knowledge, humble personality and innovative problem-solving skills. Getting him through the door here is fantastic(and not just because of his figurative stature!), but I'm so excited to begin working on some really exciting projects with him.

Building a relationship over decades

I first met Darren around a decade or so ago – when Cohesio had just started out and we were looking for our first clients to collaborate with. Darren, at the time, was working for discount chain store The Reject Shop and doing some really great things there. Taking note of Cohesio potential then, he initiated the professional relationship that lasts through to this day.

From deploying a Voice Technology solution in that first project for us to remaining on the cutting edge of supply chain technology since, Darren's eye for the innovative is directly in line with how I like to do business. He's also a perfectionist like me, always looking to refine what others consider a job well done. To me it was inevitable that we would end up working together at some point.

Making me sweat over the signature

This move was by no means a cut and dried decision. Darren and I have enormous respect for one another, but he's an industry celebrity, so I knew we would need red-carpet effort to attract him to our project. I also wanted to ensure he was onboard with Cohesio's vision. I knew he believed in the team - it was a case of demonstrating where we could go with our potential.

This vision just clicked, and now Darren is ready to add his sizeable footprint to Cohesio's success path.

Looking beyond the horizon

Darren's addition to the Cohesio family is a true coup for us. He adds an element of stability to internal operations and has already made clear his intention to begin refining some of our key processes. Knowledge sharing, improved collaboration and further strengthening our key enterprise partnerships in Asia are high on his to-do list, as is getting to know the team intimately. I can't wait, with Darren's towering help, to cast our sights ahead to what the next months and years have in store for Cohesio.
