Rolling Mill Guides

Rolling mill guide is an induction device used at the entry and exit of almost all rolls for rolling steel of any cross-section shape.

Its role is to make the workpiece in accordance with the required state in and out of the pass, ensuring that the workpiece is rolled according to the established deformation conditions.

Importance

Guide device in rolling steel production, especially the production of section steel, its importance is second only to the roll pass. According to the statistical data of the production site survey, more than 40% of the rolling failures are caused by poor guide devices.

Components

The guide device usually includes crossbeam, guide plate, guard plate, plywood (plate), guide plate box, a steel flip plate and other devices that induce, clamp the workpiece or cause the workpiece to produce a predetermined deformation and torsion outside the pass.

Type

Guides are generally divided into roller guides and static guides. Roller guides are more stable and can easily adjust the distance between the guide rollers, but the cost is higher. Static guides are cheaper, but the stability is not as good as rolling guides and they are not easy to adjust.
