Have you ever heard someone say that they are on the roller coaster of life? They say their life is full of ups, downs, twist, and turns.
We all have experienced times when life is going great, and then whoosh it suddenly goes downhill fast, like someone pulled the rug out from under you. The tracks just dropped off, and disappeared in front of you.
So why don’t we respond like we do when we are on a roller coaster? Think about it, why in life are we ok and expect everything to always just run on flat tracks? When on the roller coaster we want the twists, turns and loop da loops. One of the most boring parts of the rollercoaster is the most controlled. When you are hooked to the chain that pulls you to the top of the hill. But in life you like that boring ride. Being able to move at a slow steady pace with no surprises.
Why can't we see the that the big drop offs in life, if used correctly and learned from, could be the very thing that gives us the ability to reach greater heights than ever before. Those drops give us the momentum to get through life’s corkscrews and loop da loops.
On a roller coaster we may be a little scared knowing the drop is coming, but are excited at what comes after it. We believe that if we can get through the drop then it will be worth it. We actually start embracing the big downhill drops, seeing them as a challenge, and we can't wait till the next one.
My challenge to you is to see the drops in life the same way. As a challenge that you will embrace, learn from, and use that momentum to overcome the corkscrews in life. You will use them to keep you on the right track and be more successful than ever!
