Roles I’m Working On as 2024 Winds Down

Hard to believe Halloween is behind us and we’ve already set the clocks back as 2024 winds down to a close. Here are the roles I’m actively working on; my clients are always open to exploratory conversations with qualified candidates.

Each role below requires 2+ years of full-time Revit experience, a resume and portfolio showcasing relevant projects, and 4+ years working with Ontario Building Codes.

--------------------------

1. Revit Architectural Firm Specializing in Healthcare and Community Projects (Outside GTA)

This architectural firm, with multiple offices across Ontario, focuses on long-term care homes, assisted living, hospices, community health centers, rehab and mental health centers, daycares, youth centers, and life science labs. They have roles available outside the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), with two offices about 3 hours from Toronto and one far north in Timmins, Ontario. These roles are not remote and require relocation, but they offer a hybrid schedule (2 days WFH), excellent benefits, bonuses, and an RRSP.

Roles Available:

? Revit Architectural Technologists ($65–90k)

? Contract Administrators ($70–110k; CCCA courses preferred)

? OAA Interns (close to licensure) ($70–85k)

? Fully Licensed OAA Architects ($90–120k)

Candidates should have a minimum of 4+ years working with Ontario Building Codes, experience in other architectural firms handling mid-sized projects ($5–100 million), strong Revit skills, and a portfolio demonstrating a high level of detailing. For well-qualified candidates, a one-time relocation allowance and additional incentive pay may be offered for the Timmins location.

2. Mississauga-Based Architectural Firm Specializing in Light Industrial and Commercial Projects

This medium-sized Revit firm, based in Mississauga, leads in the light industrial sector with projects like distribution centers, warehouses, large offices, grocery stores, and car dealerships. They are hiring for:

Roles Available:

? Technologists ($70–100k)

? OAA Interns (close to licensure) ($80–95k)

? Fully Licensed OAA Architects ($90–120k)

Known for long-term relationships with top-tier clients like Costco and Amazon, this firm values technically skilled Revit users who enjoy team collaboration and face-to-face client interactions. A PMP designation is highly valued, along with adaptability and a commitment to professional growth. The senior leadership is dedicated to internal promotion, given the dynamic, long-term nature of their projects.

3. Architectural Firm in Kitchener-Guelph-Waterloo Specializing in Mid-to-High-Rise Residential

This Revit-based firm in the Kitchener-Guelph-Waterloo area focuses on mid- to high-rise projects (6+ floors), from student housing to mixed-use condos. With a strong project pipeline for 2025–2026, they are currently hiring:

Roles Available:

? Revit Technologists ($70–90k)

? Senior Technologists – Job Captains ($90–125k)

Candidates must relocate to the KGW area, as these roles require daily office attendance and site visits (non-hybrid). The Job Captain will play a critical role in establishing BIM and design standards, with above-average bonus/incentive pay for results and long-term loyalty. Experience with Canadian mixed-use residential projects, strong Revit skills, and contract administration (including site visits, field reports, and CCDC documentation) are required.

4. North Toronto Firm Specializing in Luxury Retail Projects

A smaller firm in North Toronto, this company is known for luxury retail projects across North America for brands like Gucci and Fendi. They seek:

Roles Available:

? Project Directors ($110–130k)

? Interior Designers ($70–90k)

This firm does not handle standard retail projects; they work exclusively with high-profile clients who expect top-tier design and creativity. New hires are required to work in-office for at least six months to learn their design standards. They are open to internationally trained professionals (from Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, Shanghai) who have a standout portfolio in luxury retail and are either PR holders or close to obtaining PR in Canada.

5. Calgary-Based Architectural Firms Seeking Design Architects and Interns

Two reputable firms in Calgary are actively hiring (relocation required). One firm seeks an Intermediate to Senior Design Architect (starting at $90k) for a diverse array of large-scale developments, high-end hospitality, commercial, and First Nations projects, starting at a base pay of $90k. The other, larger firm specializes in institutional projects, including universities, community centers, and libraries. They firm doing institutional projects are hiring an Intern or Registered Architect ($75–100k)

Both firms require a strong Revit portfolio in their respective fields. Candidates may be flown out for interviews if they meet the criteria.

If you know anyone who seems like a good fit with interest in any of the above roles, feel free to reach out to me on LinkedIn.

Kindly review each carefully and keep in mind all of the above clients are looking for a good fit: expect most candidates to step into the roles with a good deal of confidence; will lack interest in candidates that require training or experience in the types of projects they do.

Wishing everyone success as we close out the year!
