Role of System for Value Delivery in project management

Let’s me add a few words on what the System for Value Delivery in project management comprehends for project managers:

  1. Senior Leadership and Portfolios: Senior leadership plays a pivotal role in defining the strategic direction of the organization. They communicate the three-year strategy to the entire company. Portfolios are created by first-line directors, product managers, portfolio managers, and program managers. These portfolios align with the corporate strategy and prioritize digital products based on ROI (Return on Investment) and NPV (Net Present Value). The selected products are described in a “Vision with Product Roadmap” document.
  2. Programs and Projects: Programs are initiated, composed of multiple projects. These projects focus on realizing digital products and services. Project teams work incrementally and iteratively to develop the selected products. Information is shared with the operations team for production and testing.
  3. Operations: The operations team develops and deploys the new products. Continuous evaluation and feedback are essential for improvement.

In summary, the value delivery system ensures that projects create value aligned with strategic goals, involving stakeholders at every step of the process. As project managers, understanding this system enables effective decision-making, benefit realization management, and control over the value provided by projects. ??
