PharmaState Academy and Spag Finn Partners successfully hosted an insightful session on “The Role of PR and Media in Pharma” on February 26, 2023 (Sunday). The session was moderated by Dr. Swati Sinha and featured industry experts Aman Gupta, Managing Partner - Health Practice Asia Lead at Spag Finn Partners, and Pawan V. Kulkarni, GM - Corporate Strategy at JB Pharma.

The event was attended by professionals from the pharma industry, media, and related fields. The participants actively engaged in the session, asking insightful questions and offering their perspectives on the topic.

The speakers, Aman Gupta and Pawan V. Kulkarni provided notable case studies and experiences, making the session an invaluable learning experience. Mr. Aman Gupta pointed out how media plays an essential role in not only keeping all the company’s stakeholders informed but also educating, and sensitizing the patients about topics related to their health. He also discussed how it is a huge responsibility as much misinformation can also circulate that might affect the patients and their caregivers.

Mr. Pawan V. Kulkarni shared his insights on various aspects of public relations, advertising, and corporate communications. He highlighted the different components of media and how they play a crucial role in shaping news that people want to know about. He discussed the technological transformation in media and PR, noting that Google receives over 1 billion health-related questions every day!

Mr. Kulkarni also emphasized the importance of brand plan management using media and how to sell the problem for which one’s product is a solution. Additionally, he talked about using social media for a larger purpose, beyond just promoting a brand or product.?

Toward the end of the session, the participants were able to clear their doubts with respect to the subject. Overall, the event provided attendees with valuable insights into the ever-evolving relationship between the pharma industry and the media, and the importance of effective communication strategies in the industry.?
