Hello there, fellow leader, reader, and growth seeker!
If you've ever found yourself in a situation where your mind traps you in its version of reality, then you're not alone. In fact, we all have these kinds of moments now and then. The real question is: What can we do to stop these kinds of thoughts from controlling us? Well, luckily, there are ways that you can shift from feeling like a victim to being more objective about your life choices and actions so that you can start making better decisions for yourself.
No matter whom I have coached, one common thing that everyone struggles with is how not to repeat behavioural patterns that lead to mental, emotional and physical health problems. Furthermore, many are curious to know how to identify and change from biased to more objective thinking. They want to develop empowering personal and work habits, live by authentic values and be healthy, wealthy, and fulfilled.
In this week's Unfakeably Influence the World newsletter, I will share insights on The Role Objective Thinking Plays in Transforming Your Mental, Emotional, Physical, Spiritual, Relationship, Career, Busienss and Social well-being.
While many people like to believe that they are rational and logical, the fact is that people are continually under the influence of?cognitive biases. These biases?distort thinking, influence beliefs, and sway people's decisions and judgments daily. This is why increasing your awareness and adopting more objective thinking is crucial. It is a way of thinking that helps you solve problems, make better decisions, and be more aware of your thoughts and feelings so that the world around you can become clearer. When we think objectively, we look at the facts without judging them; this helps us see situations more accurately, allowing us to make better choices about how we respond.
When we can objectively identify what is happening around us, our ability to understand it increases significantly. Objective thinkers will notice details about people or situations that others may not see because they are too busy being subjective about the problem instead of objective about it; this can lead them down some very wrong paths!
One-sided perceptions can be highly toxic for your body, mind, heart, soul, relationships, wealth, career, business and social activities. It increases stress, sleep issues, anxiety, depression and decreased immunity.
Daily I help clients successfully address various unconscious biases, one being confirmation bias. This is the tendency to listen more often to information that confirms your existing beliefs. Through this bias, you tend to favour information that reinforces what you already think or believe.
Some examples include:
There are a few reasons why this happens. One is that only seeking to confirm existing opinions helps limit the mental resources you need to use to make decisions. It also helps protect self-esteem by making you believe your beliefs are accurate.
Over the years, I had to work on understanding and getting rid of many forms of biases I had developed. Little did I know back then that one day I would be using what I had mastered to help thousands of people heal their body-mind through developing more objective thinking.
People on two sides of an issue can listen to the same story and walk away with different interpretations that they feel validate their existing point of view. This often indicates that the confirmation bias is working to "bias" their opinions.
The problem with this is that it can lead to poor choices, an inability to listen to opposing views, or even contribute to othering people who hold different opinions.
Let me shed some light on what skewed perception is. It is a subjective thought and belief based on incomplete information about the consequences of our actions. It implies feeling alone, thus leaving you feeling rejected, unsupported and unloved. This can make it hard to feel confident and secure in yourself and your beliefs.
To illustrate, let's say you're thinking of asking someone out on a date but haven't yet worked up the nerve to do so. You've been struggling with this decision for weeks now because it seems like such an enormous step: if things don't go well with this person (which they probably won't), then you'll be left feeling rejected, unsupported and unloved—and what if they reject me? What if I get hurt again? Etc...
What is a Split Psychology?
It is the belief that you can be either one thing or another. It is the belief that you can be perfect or imperfect. It is the belief that you are either good or bad.
When split psychology comes into play, it's easy to see how we make mistakes in our thinking and choices because we limit ourselves with this narrow way of perceiving our world and ourselves.
How to Master the Duality?
Your mind is a powerful tool. However, it can also be your worst enemy if you don't learn to master its duality and its role in your life. One side of your brain can make logical, rational and objective decisions, while the other side makes decisions based on emotions and gut instinct. Identifying which part of your brain is making certain decisions will help you make more rational choices in life.
Many of the personal, relationship, career, business of financial issues that my clients bring to their coaching sessions from me to help them overcome stem from years of being conditioned to confirmation, hindsight, anchoring, self-serving, and other?biases. If you want to know more, grab a copy of my book #Loneliness – The Virus of the Modern Age, and start growing your awareness of where those biases come from so you can do something about it. I dedicated an entire chapter to how our nature's duality can destroy or build our mental, emotional and physical health. Pay attention to the Duality – The Nest for Solitude chapter, and answer all the questions.
If you tend toward one-sided perceptions when making choices or decisions, start by asking yourself why? Why do I have such a narrow focus on one side of any situation? Are my emotions getting in the way? Does my experience affect how I see things now? The answers to these questions may surprise you! If this sounds like something plaguing your life for years, then maybe it's time for some objectivity!

Five Ways to Be More Objective
How to Balance Your Perceptions?
Equilibrating skewed perceptions is a lifelong journey. In The Unfakeable Code? book, you'll find five principles that can help you do that. Here are some suggestions you can apply immediately.
The Unfakeable Code? Method is a practical and straightforward way to change your perceptions and be more authentic by using proven strategies I have used with thousands of clients to help them successfully address personal, relationship, career, busienss and financial challenges and create the results they asked of me.
Firstly, start by identifying whatever perception or thought pattern you want to change, then write it down on a piece of paper (or whiteboard) in front of you; Now, ask yourself if there's evidence that supports the idea that perception or thought pattern being true; If there isn't any evidence, then ask yourself why I would believe something that doesn't have proof behind it?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of me using a skewed perception to make choices and decisions? Finally, write down an alternative perspective as self-affirmations and repeat them daily until they become habits! This approach will help cure depression by improving balanced thinking and healing depression symptoms like anxiety attacks & mood swings while upgrading psychology overall through balanced thinking."
The Unfakeable Code? Method
When unconscious biases get the best of us, we create many personas that put us in undesirable situations we desperately want to avoid. It is why I synthesised thirty years of cross-disciplinary research into The Unfakeable Code? Method. To assist as many of you as possible, strengthen your body-mind so it can deal with any stressful situation mindfully. Being Unfakeable is a way of thinking that helps you take back control, be more authentic and see the world more objectively.
It's based on the idea that there are "codes" for everything, including how we think about ourselves, our past experiences, and our future goals. These codes create patterns in our lives—for example, if someone says something like "you always do this or that," it triggers an automatic response in all of us that can repeatedly lead us down specific paths.
This is why some people struggle with weight loss—they have internalised messages like "I'm not good enough" or "I don't deserve success at anything but being overweight."
Do you tend to have one-sided perceptions that always lead you to the same choices but make you feel like a victim of life?
Learning and applying the five principles of The Unfakeable Code? Method can help you to master your mind and get there faster. It's an easy way to train your mind so that it doesn't jump to conclusions or choose the most negative interpretation in any situation, giving you a fresh perspective on life.
One method for mastering this idea is by asking yourself three questions: "What if I'm wrong?", "What if I'm right?" and "What if I'm both?" After answering these questions, apply what you've learned from being more objective in any given situation. This way, when someone asks how they're doing at work or school (or even if they ask how their food tastes), don't just give them feedback based on what may be going through your head at that moment—try something else instead!
Conclusion
If you're tired of repeatedly going through the same struggles, it might be time to learn how to upgrade and master how to navigate better what resides in your mind. This takes practice, but it feels incredible once you get the hang of it! Being your coaching partner that takes you through this transformative process is like having someone else shine a light on those skewed perceptions so that you can make informed decisions instead of leaving everything up to chance or, even worse—your one-sided and disempowered ego.

2 年Great article my friend. It's so easy to get stuck. It happens slowly over years and years. The pain lasts just as long. Getting unstuck is perhaps the most important thing a person can do for themselves. Thank you for offering clear steps to get the journey started. Look forward on more useful stuff.
