My absolute favorite TV series of all time is … Murder She Wrote. (Yes, I'm THAT old)
Not just because I’m a fan of crime drama, (it’s always so satisfying to figure out who did it) No. It’s because of the main character, Jessica.
Here’s a woman who lost her husband, the love of her life. Instead of drowning in a deep sadness, she decides to follow her passions, to reinvent herself and begins writing books.
She lives in a place she loves, owns her own home and is surrounded by a community of people who love, cherish and respect her.
She solves problems!
She’s intelligent, energetic and charismatic. She moves her body and exercises daily. She eats healthy meals and travels abroad often…not only to sell her books but for leisure.
She’s recognized as a capable, trusted woman of integrity. People call on her for advice. She sees situations with a certain clarity.
She’s got style. Always well dressed. She’s graceful and kind. She has self control and discernment and eloquently makes her case.
Jessica was and still is a role model to me.
In some situations I ask myself, “What would Jessica do?”
How would she look at and solve a problem?
What would she conclude?
What would her process be?
To me, the character of Jessica is someone I aspire to be like. She expresses an energy of calm and joyfulness. She’s always smiling and yet joins in the suffering of her friends when tragedy strikes.
She knows what she wants. She’s content with what she has and enjoys her single status. Her life is uncomplicated, except for all the murder and mayhem…lol
I think the intro music to the show is a little too upbeat but then it feels like a perfect fit for the personality of the main character.
I often hear it said to imagine that life is a movie, to “be the main character of your own life”. All the world’s a stage, darling!
You really do have the power to become whoever you want to be. You can create a new reality for yourself. You can choose to focus on the things that matter, the things that bring you joy. You can choose to become and surround yourself with amazing people.
It begins with self awareness. Ask yourself a few questions:
I still tell myself…When I grow up, I want to be like Jessica. She’s not flashy and yet she’s low-key rich and successful!
