ROLE OF INSULIN-RESISTANT DIET IN PREDIABETES

Insulin is a hormone that helps regulate your blood sugar levels by controlling how much glucose your cells can absorb. In some individuals, insulin is not able to work properly, or in other words, the cells in the body are unable to respond to it which is why over time one develops Insulin Resistance.

Insulin Resistance is a key factor in Prediabetes, a condition in which the blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough to yet be diagnosed as Type 2 Diabetes. However, over time, this Insulin Resistance increases the chances of developing Type 2 Diabetes.?

Making lifestyle changes such as eating a healthy diet, getting regular exercise, and regularly taking medications can help people manage Insulin Resistance and lower the risk for Diabetes.?
