Role of HR in Modern Organizations
Recently came across interesting article in Forbes and some words deeply imprinted in my mind, It stated - “CHRO at a Fortune 200 company said recently in a webinar, “If you’re an HR professional and you’re not at the table today, you never will be.” It’s a great time to face tough challenges and lead the organization to new solutions.” These words, gave me inspiration to dare and share my thoughts about the Role of HR in Modern Organizations.
In Nowadays Business world, the role of Human Resources has evolved and became more strategic. It’s not just an administrative function anymore, but HR Professionals contribute to the overall success of the organization by shaping its culture, managing talent and ensuring compliance with Employment law; Speaking from my practical experience, when HR is viewed as strategic business partner in an Organization – its much more likely that organization gains competitive advantage and achieves its long term objectives.
Here is some of the examples, how can organization benefit from strategic HR processes:
·??Organizational Culture – When HR is committed in creating positive organizational culture it encourages employee productivity, positive atmosphere and employee engagement; If you were interested with internal climate of the modern organizations, you’d have observed that Employee wellbeing became more and more important lately, and HR is usually involved in developing wellbeing initiatives, to support employees maintain work-life balance and thrive at work;
·? Talent Management – Considering the organizations objectives, strategic HRM includes workforce planning and identifying critical skills; also, implementing different initiatives to attract, retain and develop talents;
·??Talent Development – HR is responsible for creating and leading L&D programs, Performance Management, Career Development and Succession Planning;
·??Compensation & Benefits – HR is designing competitive benefit packages to attract and retain key talents;

·??Legal Factor – HR must not only ensure the organization complies with employment laws, but also pays special attention to labor relations and ensures to be equal opportunity employer;
·??Employee Relations – last but not least, one of the crucial HRM roles within the organization; while discussing HR daily tasks with many of my colleagues, lots of HR efforts are directed toward mediation in resolving conflicts, guiding employees and creating open and free from discrimination culture;
And finally, I’d like to add, that strategic HRM involves aligning HR strategies with organization's mission, vision, values and objectives, that’s why HR has become the backbone of organization’s success nowadays.
