Role of Get together in keeping people young
Prof Dr Arun Jamkar
Distinguished Professor at SYMBIOSIS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY
We had a nice get-together of our batch of 1969 admission to the government medical College Aurangabad.
last year Our batch organized a similar get-together in the Ellora complex but this time it was on the Ajanta caves complex.
It was organized in the Fardapur guesthouse which is maintained by MTDC and the total responsibility of the organisation Was done by a team led by Dr Dilip Bhavtankar, Dr Dhawale, Dr Gurade and all my classmates in Aurangabad.
We started from Aurangabad by bus so that we can interact with each other on our journey from Aurangabad to Ajanta.
A lovely breakfast was organised by Dr Zalwar at his residence in Sillod. It was almost like a marriage reception breakfast, full of affection.
We reached Ajanta on a very bad road, abusing the government for not maintaining the roads of an international tourist destination.
We had a beautiful presentation of caves by guide Viju which was recommended by Dr Zalwar.
We clicked a lot of photographs but then there was a limitation as the light within the caves was low and then we were not permitted a flash or tripod.
Anyway,y it was a beautiful experience to witness over heritage.
It was all paintings in the colour of the Buddhist era including the magnificent Padmapani. We spent most three and half hours in the caves and then came back to witness and experience a beautiful lunch at Ajanta Green Hotel.
We rested for 2 to 3 hours in the MTDC resort and the evening program was waiting for us.
Our batch is blessed with such an excellent profile of creative Domain, eg photography, painting, music karaoke, poetry and live demonstration of classical music.
On the evening of the 20th, we had a slideshow presentation on the Alaska cruise by Dr Vijay Borgaonkar, the Annapurna base camp by Dr. Jamkar, Wildlife video of Tiger by Dr GK Deshpande. Dr Lata presented need of study in rheumatology
The next day morning or program started with a yoga demonstration by Dr Satish Pathak and the Hasya club, laughter is medicine by Dr Gurude...
It was indeed a very enjoyable experience to encounter the talent of our batch.
In the morning from 1130, we had an excellent demonstration by various batch mates on Karaoke. A total of more than 30 songs were presented excellently by our batch mates. The technical responsibility karaoke presentation was ?me. Dr Jamkar and a presented three songs and my wife Dr Maya Jamkar presented two songs.
Evening we had a poetry recital of our poems as well as nice poetry of celebrity poets.
Then we had a live music festival on harmonium presented by Dr Vibha Deshpande and Dr GK Deshpande.
This gate together was unique as everybody of us has only crossed 70 years of its Age and it was such beautiful emotional networking in the serene environment of Ajanta caves.
Organisers had taken so much effort in organising the event, a huge nice Shamiyana, beautiful sound system, nice delicious food and excellent hospitality.
Such get-togethers give you a nostalgic Association of the last 50 years and after Family, the classmates are the closest having affectionate relationship. We know each other for the last 50 years. There is nothing to hide in this group and Nostalgia of Association with pleasant memories will not let the brain go into Alzheimer's.
In me congratulatory and concluding talk. I requested all my classmates to learn something new so that the new neuronal divisions, that will contribute to the new brain, will not let them die.
I salute all my classmates who joined and all my classmates organised this event from bottom of my heart.
