The situational leadership model involves four leadership styles: directing, coaching, supporting, and delegating. The appropriate style depends on the level of competence and commitment of the team members, which can be assessed through a situational analysis.

In the directing style, the leader provides clear instructions and closely supervises the team. This style may be appropriate for team members who are new to their roles or who lack experience.

In the supporting style, the leader provides praise and recognition while allowing the team member to take the lead. This style may be appropriate for team members who are highly motivated and experienced.

In the delegating style, the leader provides minimal guidance and allows the team member to take full responsibility. This style may be appropriate for team members who are highly competent and motivated.
