The role of 'character and values' in the recruitment process

During the interview process, people think that it is hard skills that count for everything. Of course, hard skills are important for doing the job but character, values, and how well you go along with people also matter a lot.?

You must have heard about 'value-based hiring'. Yes, this is a modern concept of hiring. The interviewees often tend to overlook this, but here's a reminder to all the job seekers to demonstrate their values and tell the recruiters about themselves and who they are. Why and how different they are from others?

What do recruiters/people look at and what do interviewees often overlook/don't pay attention to?

  • Skills, demonstrate the hard skills that you know?
  • Demonstrate soft skills
  • Tell recruiters why are you most passionate about that role and that particular organisation?
  • Tell recruiters about how can you create a difference in people's life if you get this job?
  • What have you done for those who cannot pay back to you?
  • How this role will help you to achieve your/your parents dreams?
  • How this role will help you to serve a bigger purpose than you?
  • Why do you want to contribute and how will you contribute to that particular organisation?
  • What interests you the most about your job/work?
  • Tell stories about your success and failures
  • Tell them about how you bounced back from the failures, show your grit and resilience
  • Last but not least, tell them about your personal values that you practice in your day to day life

Getting a job is not so tough, if you show your values, treat people well, respect different views, show good character, put your contribution into this world by your presence, etc.?

It is so important to have a fulfilled life and, career is one part of it. Having a fulfilled career is so important in today's busy world. Make sure that through your work, you are creating something better.?

You will always step up in your career/life -?

  • If you know how to lift others
  • If you know how to correct yourself after a mistake
  • If you know how to do things for others selflessly
  • If you know to treat people?
  • If you know how to think bigger than your ownself
  • If you know how to lead
  • If you know that you don't need a title of leader to lead

Do well, be better, and be the most beautiful version of yourself. Learn, grow, rise, develop things and find a greater purpose.?
