Will the ROI of AI match the hype?

Today’s question: How can your business implement generative AI in a way that’ll maximize your return on investment?

Salesforce surveyed over 2,000 sales and service professionals recently, and most said that they believe generative AI will help them in their jobs. But helping is one thing. Maximizing your company’s ROI on AI is something else.

The same survey found that more than 50% of sales and service teams don’t know how to get the most value out of generative AI. That’s not surprising, given that many companies are still figuring out how to implement and scale AI across their businesses.

"Across industries, CEOs have spent weeks debating the right ways to tackle AI projects," The Wall Street Journal reports , adding that some are setting up AI councils, task forces, and the like.

One successful model comes from 施耐德电气 , a global energy management and industrial automation company, which in 2021 appointed a chief AI officer to formalize its AI strategy.
