Roe V. Wade

As you are doubtless aware, the Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade in a landmark decision that eliminates the constitutional right to an abortion in the United States. As a result of this ruling, many states in the U.S. are expected to ban or further restrict access to abortion and related women’s health services.

It is deeply unfortunate to witness decisions such as this one, that seek to bar access to individuals' rights to pursue choices that are consistent with the pursuit of their health and happiness. While the legislative and political implications of this historic moment will play out over time, and will create significant uncertainty for all of us, one place where there can be no uncertainty is where IPG stands – in support of fundamental human rights.

In the United States, we are therefore in the process of updating our healthcare benefits to provide funding for travel that will allow consistent access to healthcare, including abortion care and other critical medical services. If any among us resides in a state that does restrict your – or your family’s – access to reproductive healthcare, we will help you continue to have access to those services, so as to ensure consistency and equity with the benefits available to your colleagues elsewhere in the U.S. and around the world.

We respect that this news touches on a topic that’s deeply personal, and that there will be differing points of view within our community related to this issue. Decisions regarding healthcare and our families are by their nature ones that each of us makes with thoughtful consideration and in line with our individual circumstances and beliefs.?

We are taking this decision as relates to our benefits in order to ensure that an option that an individual deems best for them and that is legally available to some among us remains available to all. We are also doing so because that’s consistent with our values of mutual trust and respect, which are core to our long-standing commitment to equity and inclusion.?
