? Rocktober ? Friends ? Family ? Roadtrip ? Walks ?

The Calendar has turned again, Rocktober is upon us. I spent last week road-tripping with my better half up to Sun River, Oregon to hang out with a dozen friends I've known for over 40 years. Fate brought us together as fellow freshmen, assigned to the same dorm for our first year of college.

Consequently, instead of posting on LinkedIn, last week was filled with laughter, conversations, catching up, more laughter, riding, walking, talking, and more laughter. At times, my face hurt from smiling and laughing so hard.

My friend Tod Podl (who departed before we got a group shot) used to celebrate October's arrival with a rousing air band tribute reenactment of The Who's Eminence Front, turned up to 11 on our big amplifiers, tower speakers, pointed out the door for all to share.

I feel blessed beyond compare for the friends who've shared this ride, and offered unwavering friendship, love, and support, regardless of the circumstance.

So this Friday, I encourage you to call a friend you haven't talked to in a while. Call that family member who's fallen out of regular contact. Shared history is a powerful thing. We are all so busy in the now. The opportunity to call won't always be there.
