Rockability with leather and lights

Rockability with leather and lights

This distinct concept of leather and lights ‘rockability’ was pitched to me by a favoured photographer, Cassandra Leigh. Cassandra always invites me, as a model, to embrace a vision or experiment with a look for a particular shoot.

I entrusted my coif to the creative majesty of Victoria Stevens, owner/operator of Metropolitan Rockability Hair Design. The original concept was a faux hawk; a hairstyle in which a section of hair running from the front to the back of the head stands erect. In just over an hour, Victoria nailed my concept dead on.

The outfit was a combination of leather and lingerie, lending itself to a concept of strength, confidence, power and sex appeal.

Use curiosity to foster strength and power, and confidence to foster ambition and realism.

Cassandra used front and back coloured lighting to make her vision take shape, giving the photoshoot a unique edge which she’ll continue to play up and fine tune in the final editing stage.

The ability to collaborate with such talent, as exemplified by both Victoria and Cassandra on this shoot, invigorates an exclusive passion shared by many in the fashion and photography industry. It’s through collaboration that we can start thinking about doing things differently and realizing we have the capacity to live life to the fullest and embrace the unexpected.

This shoot represents curiosity, fantasy, escapism and ambition for me. [And] I can’t wait to work with these ladies again to champion the notion that boundaries don’t exist for anyone who is fierce, fearless and untameable.

Creatively,
