Rock Stars Never Stop
The phrase "Rock star" has been diminished. There is a difference between filing, running errands and commanding an audience. Many on this site who label themselves "Rock stars" are posers.
I might be a rock star. Being a pain in the neck who demands creative control? You will never see me on a spread sheet from passive aggressive people who are really nice when you agree with them and rude if you question their absolute authority.
Faith not worth questioning is not worth having. In this article I shall discuss three men who recently passed. Two you know of and the third? Read on. Dusty Hill recently passed. The three members of ZZ Top performed for over fifty years. That is a record.
U2 has maintained its original lineup forty years. It is a rarity since some have creative differences, others pass away and bands break up. I never saw ZZ Top in concert. Not only have concerts become far too expensive? I Phones cause fans to watch amateur filmmakers shooting an entire show.
I have watched concerts on You Tube and the experience is comparable without a commute or sitting next to someone who cannot sing and does it as loudly as possible. The loss of Charlie Watts is greater.
He was a jazz drummer. So was John Bonham. There are no wild stories about Charlie Watts. He was married fifty-seven years. Performing with The Rolling Stones one year longer than his marriage? Mick Jagger and Keith Richards met at the age of five.
There should be a series about that seventy year relationship with flashbacks and flash forwards. There is no shortage of source material. The rumor was Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman were notably older than Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Both gentlemen were a few years older than Mick and Keith. They were not of another generation.

I might have an article on The Rolling Stones to write. There has been a lot of varied music played over the past day. I seem to recall the soap suds in the It's Only Rock and Roll video where Charlie kept playing even though he was engulfed in foam.
The week began with the news that Anthony C. passed away. I worked with him for two years. He had cancer and two jobs. When I see posts about taking "Mental health days" and how many likes they receive? I am reminded of a man who scheduled chemotherapy on Friday so he could regain his energy to make it back to work on Monday.
Some colleagues are barometers. They see who works hard and who needs improvement. He appreciated my hard work. It's what you are supposed to do. He noticed my performance on the infamous day when I made like Aaron Rodgers.
He had to step down before the pandemic. Living in the area I saw him drive past occasionally. When he greeted me last February? He looked better. He did not look worse. Some people beat cancer. Others do as much as possible for as long as they can.
It seems like key employees have been leaving the company lately. It isn't an exodus. I have seen many come and go. The beauty of a strong memory is carrying a torch for some who came into life briefly. Anyone can make a positive impact regardless of how long or short they are in your line of sight.
