Find the "Who's" not the "Hows" when assembling your band. I was asked to come out of entertainment retirement from a client that used me in the 90s. (Everyone has their price) I hadn't done the Rock This Way Show in over 6 years. A combo of half-live musicians, DJ, and Marvelless Mark.
So I'm thinking how can I make this full proof and an immediate success when hours and days of rehearsals are not an option? By adopting the Who not How strategy. Rather than taking time and energy away from my keynote speaking career and trying to figure out how to do this, I called the best performers and musicians I had worked with, in the past and assembled a Rock Star lineup. I had sent the vision and clients vision of having a Rock Star theme beach party on the beach at the Harbor Beach Marriott. We all arrived about 2 hours before the show, had a quick vision jam session, a 20-minute soundcheck and the end result was an over the top happy client who is a pharmaceutical group from a company over 50 years old had never danced at any of their yearly conferences or came on stage. Until now.

So what's the business spin on this? When you and your bands/teams set goals, instead of trying to figure out how you are going to accomplish and achieve them, find the who's that can do it for you so that you can spend more time focusing on important items and activities versus important urgent activities.
