Rock Capital's MAY Rock Star!

Each month we select an agent or broker to highlight their work in the industry - and to simply get to know our team a little better. Our featured Rock Star for the month of May is Greg Chase.

Greg has been a mortgage agent for over 7 years. He grew up in small town Ontario and settled in Toronto with his family after obtaining his Math degree from the University of Waterloo.

Prior to becoming a mortgage agent, Greg had a successful IT career working on a variety of projects, primarily in the financial and telecommunications sectors. Greg brings his varying experience and problem-solving skills to mortgage brokering giving him a unique perspective on mortgage files. In his spare time, Greg has volunteered his time to different organizations and endeavours. He also enjoys playing, coaching and watching hockey.

Greg has been a valued member of our team at Rock Capital since 2016. Most recently, he shared his knowledge in front of our Rock agents & brokers at our Spring Conference in April. Greg's patience and genuine caring attitude extends far beyond assisting fellow agents, but more importantly, in helping his valued clients obtain the absolute best mortgage financing.

We asked Greg some questions to get to know him a little better, and here is what he had to say:

Q: What advice would you give yourself in your first years as a mortgage agent?

A: Build my database as quickly as possible.

Q: If you could sit down to dinner with one person, who would it be and why?

A: My dad. He was a humble man who instilled in me many of the values I have. I still have much to learn. It has been over 10 years since he 'graduated' and I was last able to glean his nuggets of wisdom.

Q: Why did you join Rock Capital?

A: An initial conversation with Mike Brooks led me to learn about Dwight Trafford's reputation in the mortgage industry, Rock's training program and agent support. Additionally, Orville Wentworth agreeing to join Rock if I joined. The training program and agent support, which was good when I started, has continued to develop and has become what I consider to be one of the best in the industry.

Q: How do you define success?

A: Using your talents and skills to better your life and the lives of those around you.

Teaching your kids and those you mentor to go farther than you've gone and for them to do the same.

Getting to the point where you continually appreciate and pursue beauty, goodness and truth.
