Rock Capital's JANUARY Rock Star!

Each month we select a Rock Capital agent or broker to highlight their work in the industry - and to simply get to know our team a little better. Our featured Rock Star for the month of January is our 2024 Broker of the Year (for volume), Rodney Schunker .

Rodney joined Rock Capital in 2012 and has built a successful team of mortgage agents and brokers. He is a respected team leader and does an excellent job of training and developing the agents under his wing.

Rodney is not only a driven and motivating team leader, he is also a key supporter of our entire Rock Capital team. He is always present for our brokerage's events and willing to show up and contribute. Commercial files are Rodney's specialty - he is always eager to help our agents and brokers with their complex commercial deals.

In his spare time, Rodney enjoys traveling and spending time with his family. He often joins our team Rock Calls via video from a beach somewhere around the world. As an avid worker, he is always available for his clients - even while traveling!

We asked Rodney some questions to better understand the secret behind his successful year, and here is what he had to say:

Q: As our 2024 Broker of the Year (for volume), what do you attribute your successful year to?

A: Consistency in keeping in touch with our existing clients and asking them for referrals, building our data base more aggressively, and providing excellent customer service on every file.

Q: What systems do you have in place that allow you to complete a high volume of deals annually with ease?

A: Transparent system amongst our team to have a 24-hour turn around on approvals and follow up with courtesy calls to all our clients on their needs analysis.

Q: Any advice for agents in their first few years in the industry? (Which habits can they implement now to help them in the future?)

A: Put yourself out there and meet people.?Invest your time in your Realtors and financial advisors/accountants. Make yourself available!
