ROCK 105: I Dare You

Somewhere, I lost track of days.
These times have that effect.
We have dived in on 20 virtues thus far and this is Day 22. So, today a two-fer.
ROCK 105 is 105 days of deeper dives on 105 virtues. Thus far, we have gone in on Acceptance, Accountability, Appreciation, Assertiveness, Awe, Beauty, Candor , Caring, Certitude, Charity, Cheerfulness, Cleanliness, Commitment, Compassion, Confidence, Consideration, Contentment, Cooperation, Courage ... and Courtesy ... as strengths of character in these days and going forward. 20 in... and now 21 and 22.
A Powerful Set of Wings
and...
Read on these two. Reflect on them. Imagine them in unison. Imagine them as forces for change in your life, and your world. Imagine how and where and with whom they would play out best for you.
For me, Creativity and Daring are two wings of one great bird taking flight. They are carving out for me that next chapter (nay, book) personally and professionally. They are impacting my work on my physical health and presence, my relationships and my work. They are currently fully engaged.
These days for me have been fraught with both opportunity and challenge. I am pretty sure you have found same. There have been very hard days and days of great revelation. On the days of revelation, this prayer resonates for me on Creativity and Daring. Ready in all circumstances requires such. Powerfully adaptive and purposeful. In my actions and stillness alike.
Yes, these days have provided opportunity to carve out a vision for the next year.
Now is time to create it, and be daring in doing so.
Consider Creativity. Consider Daring. These times are no blip, I contend. Great change and realizations are afoot and ongoing, and demand great responses, creative and daring. They demand of us the capacity to dare to imagine, and create.
Creativity and Daring. Ponder these. Practice these. I dare you.

I speak, teach, coach, facilitate, lead, write, sing, dance, cartoon and create on that. In 1980, Professor Rolf Hattenauer changed my life. A highly respected expert in Human Resource Management, he expected much of us and he believed much in us. He was an educator and leader of high character. He was extraordinary. To this day and beyond, I try my darnedest to honor his spirit with my own work. That is another story. But I hope I did him service here.
