Biobot Surgical Group secures $18M Series B for Mona Lisa surgical robot in March 2024.

A Singapore based company has successfully finished B round funding round of 18m USD. The Series B funding will allow BIOBOT to grow its global footprint and enhance its digital surgery infrastructure. The Mona Lisa device stands out as the initial and sole robotics-assisted transperineal needle positioning device available on the market.


MMI - Medical Microinstruments, Inc. secures $110M and more digital health fundings in February 2024. Medical Microinstruments, a surgical robotics company, announced it secured $110 million in a Series C financing round led by Fidelity Management & Research Company, with participation from existing investors. The company offers its Symani Surgical System, a robotic technology for microsurgery and supermicrosurgery. The system allows surgeons to replicate the movement of a human hand at a micro level during soft tissue and open surgery procedures. The Florida-based company will use the funds to support the commercialization of its robotic system and perform clinical studies.

Dental robotics company Neocis raises $20M in January 2024.

Neocis, maker of surgical technology for robot-assisted dental implants, announced today that it raised $20 million in additional funding.Maimi-based Neocis received investments from Mirae Asset Capital/Mirae Asset Venture Investment. They have an affiliation with the Mirae Asset Financial group and invest in growth-stage healthcare and technology businesses. NVentures, NVIDIA’s venture capital arm, also participated in the funding.

Microsure raises $40M to advance microsurgical robot.

Microsure announced in October 2023 that it successfully closed its Series B2 investment round, securing nearly $40 million (€38 million).Eindhoven, The Netherlands-based Microsure plans to use the funds to finalize the development of its newest microsurgical robot. It intends to progress its MUSA-3 robot through clinical studies, then subsequent FDA clearance and CE mark approval.


CMR Surgical has raised 165 million USD in 2023 continuing development of its Versius surgical robot in September 2023.

Ronovo Surgical announced its second successful fundraising round in the past eight months, bringing in $26 million to support its surgical robot. Shanghai, China-based Ronovo closed a funding round in February, also unveiling its Carina surgical robotic platform. The $26 million in the latest round brings the company’s total fundraising to more than $76 million since 2020.


Galen Robotics Inc., a leading medtech company specializing in advanced robotic surgical systems, in September 2023 announced U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) De Novo classification grant and authorization to market the Galen ES? Robotic System for use in rigid microlaryngeal procedures. This milestone achievement marks a significant step in Galen Robotics' mission to meet underserved markets with its surgical robotic assistant.

The Galen ES is a cooperatively powered surgical assist device for ear, nose, and throat (ENT) surgery. It facilitates ENT surgical procedures, including instrument placement in conjunction with Microlaryngeal Alligator Forceps. The device works in partnership with the surgeon's movements to assist with precise and stable positioning of an instrument while maintaining the surgeon's direct physical control of the instrument.


Virtuoso Surgical, Inc. ?adds $1.8M in grant funding to support surgical robot?

Virtuoso designed its system with two robotically controlled, needle-sized manipulators working from the tip of a rigid endoscope. That endoscope comes in at less than half the diameter of a U.S. dime.

Pre-clinical medical device company Microbot Medical has received funding worth NIS1.62m ($440,000) from the Israel Innovation Authority (IIA) for its endovascular surgical robotic system LIBERTY.


Moon Surgical raises $55.4m for robotics system in May 2023. Moon Surgical has an FDA cleared Maestro system. Maestro augments surgical procedures by aiding surgeons carrying out laparoscopies and is compatible with standard laparoscopic cameras and instruments and offers a more affordable alternative to current robotic options

Moon Surgical has secured $55.4m in venture funding co-led by Sofinnova Partners, through its Sofinnova Capital Strategy, and NVIDIA’s venture capital arm, NVentures. The funding adds to a previous $31.3m Series A funding completed in June 2022.


Noah Medical raises $150M Series B for surgical robot platform in April 2023

San Carlos, California-based Noah Medical plans to use the funds to support its Galaxy System as demand increases. The company received FDA clearance for Galaxy for robotic-navigated bronchoscopy last year in March 2023. Galaxy and its accessories provide bronchoscopic visualization and access. These capabilities provide diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in patient airways. The system features advanced imaging technologies that provide real-time location updates for potentially cancerous lesions. Noah says it designed the technology to improve tool-in-lesion and diagnostic yield.


Distalmotion brings in $150M as it seeks FDA nod for surgical robot in April 2023.

Distalmotion announced today that it closed a $150 million financing as it looks to bring its surgical robot to the U.S. market. Revival Healthcare Capital led the financing round. Distalmotion said in a news release that the funds reinforce the confidence of its existing investors.
