Robotic Induction: rethinking parcel sorter feeding with robotics

An intelligent robotic arm, equipped with a 3D camera for automatic parcel feeding, here is the solution developed by Solystic and called "Robotic Induction". Robotic Induction rely on software intelligence that enables it to detect and manipulate each parcel according to its characteristics, and to automatically feed the sorting machines.

Packages arriving in bulk on the conveyors are analysed using an integrated 3D camera and vision software. They are then picked up one by one by the gripper and fed to the sorter.

A special device (Robotic Induction Facing) allows, if necessary, an automatic reorientation of the parcels with the recipient label upwards, to facilitate their reading on the sorters.

Thanks to Robotic Induction (already in operation in the Netherlands) there is no longer need for manual, tedious and repetitive operations to feed the sorting machines. This makes it possible to deal with the labour shortage in the sector or to devote warehouse operators to other tasks with higher added value. Each automated station ensures a rate equivalent to that of 2 traditional manual feeding stations.

Thanks to its autonomous and modular design the solution can be installed on any type of automated sorter and is natively available as an option on the Solystic CST (Compact Slide Tray) sorter.?
