? Mastercard’s GenAI Assistants Landed. Mastercard has launched a GenAI-based digital assistant designed to speed up customer onboarding. The product automates routine tasks and answers customer’s critical questions by utilizing a large language model with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and fine-tuning. The company plans a whole suite of such agent tools built in collaboration with DataBricks.
? AI to Tackle Supply Chain Disruptions. Tumbler manufacturer Stanley figured out how to better prevent supply chain disruptions. Yes, it’s with AI. Full control.
? Robotaxis Built on Gemini. Waymo, the Alphabet-owned company, is developing a new training model for its robotaxis built on Gemini. The business identified several situations in which the model helped its driverless cars find the right route, including encountering various animals or construction in the road. “This suggests a promising avenue of future research, where even more core autonomous driving tasks could be combined in a similar, scaled-up setup,†the company said. We can expect Multimodal Models for Autonomous Driving to be the future of the sector.

? AI Outperforms Doctors in Medical Diagnosis Study. A new Stanford University study reveals that ChatGPT-4 achieved high diagnostic accuracy, scoring 92% when analyzing real patient cases — significantly outperforming traditional and AI-assisted physicians, who scored 74% and 76%, respectively. Interestingly, doctors with access to ChatGPT didn’t show significant improvement in their diagnostic reasoning compared to those without AI assistance. Seems more training is needed for better effectiveness.
? AI Manages Traffic at Verona's Porta Nuova. Horrible traffic? Think Verona. Planned in 1532, Verona is not great at managing jams. But not anymore! The city came together with Bitsensing, a South Korean company, to install traffic insight monitoring sensors (TIMOS) overlooking Porto Nuevo’s five entrance lanes and six exit lanes. TIMOS leverages on-device AI that rapidly moves data collection to analysis. Curious to see the results. Trip to Italy anyone?
? Boston Dynamics’ New Humanoid to Boost Automotive. Boston Dynamics’ electric Atlas humanoid can now execute autonomous automotive parts picking. The company shared a video which showcases the robot doing work in a demo space, moving engine parts between bins.
