"Spot" Boston Dynamics’ has successfully detected a potentially hazardous gas leak at a midstream gas plant during an autonomous inspection.Spot’s autonomous inspection capabilities is a selling point for its deployment in the oil and gas industries. Spot's sensors array to capture data includes visual and thermal cameras, a hashtag#MUVEC360 gas detection sensor and navigation capabilities - to roam the 40-acre facility.

Once a plume of combustible gas is "spotted", Spot shuts down to avoid ignition risk and the safety team was alerted to ....“Spot was not only able to detect leaks accurately with the gas sensor and safely initiate its shutdown process, but this solution also has the potential to speed detection and response times,” the team said in a statement

On sadder news, Roscoe: Aurora distant cousin was shot in Massachusetts. Roscoe was shot multiple times during a police standoff earlier this month. Roscoe is Massachusetts State Police robot dog. Killing Robots Dogs - t.ly/SIwdM

It Seems that some of the nay sayers to Robot may not have a case Afterall.

Expensive, complicated, only useful for large companies, ..etc. seem to be false now.
