The slippery pole…
The human race suffers from a few failings, and topically, at the moment, is the belief that when you climb high up the slippery pole of importance, you can get away with more than when you were at the bottom!!?
It’s probably true that you have the opportunity to do so, in the belief you will not be questioned or found out, but, as we all know too well, it ain’t like that!!?In fact, it’s completely the opposite, as you won’t have the opportunity, and less people will be affected or care - but once you reach the heights of the slippery pole of importance, it’s far more important to set an example!?It is vital to remember where you came from, and understand the scrutiny you will be under.
One thing you must never forget is, it’s called a slippery pole for a reason!?The higher you climb the bigger the fall! So why do so many people seem to forget that and think they are untouchable? They reckon they can do what they want, and will be protected. I’m not unduly bothered about people having social gatherings, but it’s not a good idea for people in glasshouses to throw stones - for many, the higher they climb, a common failing seems to be that they forget about moral values.

1 年Very true and a good observation Robin. The human psyche is complex, sometimes unfathomable, but occasionally it is quite astonishing how people you come across in businesses behave in a professional capacity. I do occasionally wonder if they actually realise that they’re on a slippery pole?
