Robin's Diary

Like it or not, it’s happening!

Over the weekend I heard again the same old arguments about Electric Cars, and, whilst I agree with some of the reasons for the reluctance to switch to EV, just like many things that legislation has forced upon us, it’s happening!

I wasn’t a great fan of having to wear a seat belt.? I can remember when the general flow of traffic on a motorway was 80ish, not 70 as it is now! But times change, and with these and others, we have generally fallen in line.

This is exactly what will happen with Electric cars. ?Your next new car will probably be the last time you get to decide on petrol or electric, as after that, you won’t have a choice. The myths about EVs are slowly being tested, and there is price parity on new cars. Electric vehicles certainly help make the air we breathe cleaner, they are smooth and quiet to drive, and, if you charge it at home, will save you £500 / £750 a year on running costs.

Most of us don’t like change, we like the status quo, we like what we feel comfortable with, but we will all have to change. So, it’s easier to cope with if we embrace it, rather than fight it, and that’s the same for any change. ???????
