My contentious comments a couple of weeks ago about multi-buys caused a real stir – so, like last week, I am sticking to good news in this week’s diary! And it’s great to have more of it!
As we are located about halfway between Headingley and Castleford I am staying neutral, but it’s absolutely brilliant that both Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers have made it to the Super League Grand Final – Good Luck to both teams, may the best side win – considering we have both Cas and Leeds supporters as customers I am staying firmly on the fence!!
More good news last week came for me from being asked to support a couple of customers whose Golf Club was running a Children In Need day - so I dusted off my clubs, which come out about twice a year, and tried to lose golf balls, very successfully. What I didn’t realise was that Howley Hall Golf Club in Morley have been running this event for 15 years, and this year passed an amazing £300,000 raised, but, having seen first-hand the organisation and effort they put into the event, I am not surprised!! Still, a brilliant achievement for them and, fortunately for me, our customers made our team score respectable, so a great day was had by all, but my golf clubs won’t be out again for a while!!
And finally, we are possibly the first car dealership in the country, certainly the first in Leeds, to be working to be “Dementia Friendly” - Peter Smith of the Tea Cosy Memory Café in Rothwell has given us some tips and advice on this, and we hope to help him raise awareness and understanding of Dementia, and hopefully more car dealers will follow – I believe that it’s not about selling cars, or spending money, it’s just about being more aware of small things we can do that can help.
