?? The "From Orlik to the Stadium" Football Tournament: A Pathway to Dreams ??
The nationwide football tournament "From Orlik to the Stadium" has officially kicked off, offering young boys and girls across Poland the chance to develop their skills and chase their football dreams. The tournament gives participants the unique opportunity to play the final match at the country’s most iconic sports venue – the PGE National Stadium! ???
This exciting event is part of the Active School government program, aiming to inspire young people to get active and pursue their passion for football. Organized by the Or?y Sportu Foundation in cooperation with the Polish Football Association (PZPN), this tournament is set to be a highlight for budding footballers. ??
Football Legends as Ambassadors ?? To make it even more special, some of Poland's top football stars have joined as ambassadors. ? Among them are Weronika Zawistowska, Jakub Moder, Kacper Urbański, and the captain of Poland’s national team, Robert Lewandowski. They’re all coming together to motivate young athletes with the slogan: "Take Your Path from Orlik to the Stadium" ???, encouraging kids to dream big and give their best on the pitch.
Who Can Join? The tournament is open to boys and girls from grades 6-8 in primary schools, born between 2010 and 2012 (and younger). Both school teams and so-called "wild teams" (independent, amateur groups) are welcome to participate. The tournament will include local, regional, and provincial stages, with matches being played across Poland. ???
Why Orliks? The matches will be held at Poland’s Orlik sports fields – the perfect venues for bringing communities together through sport. ??? There are over 2,600 Orliks across the country, promoting not only physical activity but also social integration. These fields are more than just pitches; they are places where communities meet, kids make memories, and local sports come alive. ????
The Grand Final at PGE National Stadium ????? The grand finale will take place in Warsaw on November 19, 2024, with 96 of the best teams from across the country battling it out. For the young footballers, it’s not just about winning – it's about the chance to showcase their skills in front of scouts and coaches from the PZPN. ?? The top players will be invited to a week-long, all-expenses-paid training camp with Poland's youth national team coaches, and even get a chance to train with the national team's head coach! ???
