Rob Burrow - such an inspiration
Like many, I was terribly sad to hear about Rob Burrow's death this morning. I learned about MND many years ago when I was working at a hospice in South London. Prior to that I had never heard of it. Whilst at the hospice, I became very involved with an MND patient (largely because I was one of the few people who could understand what she was saying) and that lovely lady was just as brave, just as courageous and just as inspirational as Rob - and Doddie Weir - were. I wrote a book in her memory which I sent to the MNDA. As more people are now aware, MND is a cruel and horrendous disease; it takes away your normal bodily functions yet leaves the brain active; I cannot think of anything worse, although I am sure others would disagree. I just wanted to pen a brief tribute to Rob, Doddie, and the lady I knew at the hospice. I hope they have all now found peace and freedom. Sending love to their families.
