Roadmap to Passing the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate for FREE!

Some of you have been trying to scratch that AWS Solutions Architect Associate itch...

Well, I'm here to help you scratch.

Below, I've included a way to help you land that big cert you've been looking for a long time!

So, here is how to start...

1. First, check out the exam guide.

First, you must understand the domains you'll be tested on. You can check out the AWS CSA Exam guide here: Exam Guide.

This will give you an understanding of what topics you will focus on, how much credit the exam gives, and what you need to know within each domain to pass.

2. Find Where to Learn

There are a ton of resources out there that can help you pass the exam. However, AWS has a ton of material to help you understand the domains you need to pass this exam.

You can use the AWS Skill Builder to learn the domains quickly: AWS Skill Builder.

This course will take you through all four domains of the AWS CSA-A exam.

3. Use Labs to Reinforce

Now, we are learning the material, but how do we get hands-on to reinforce it?

The skill builder will help you along the way, and you also can use the AWS hands-on lab.

Here are some other labs you can put together to help you.

• Creating and Subscribe to an SNS Topic, adding the SNS events for S3
• Create IAM users and add them to IAM groups.
• Deploy and Manage an App in Elastic Beanstalk
• Create and configure sticky sessions within your application load balancer's target group.
• Building a simple application using SAM (Serverless Application Model)

These labs will help you get an understanding of how these services work. So, when you get a question on the exam, you know, and you don't have to guess.

NOTE: Tip to help you digest more, if you can, do all of these in the console and through the CLI!

4. Read the Whitepapers and Do Practice Exams, Over and Over anddd Over.

From here, you want to focus on digesting the labs and lessons you've taken to understand how they impact organizations. This will give you a deeper understanding of the how and why!

Note: White Papers can be challenging to read as there is much information on them. However, make It a mission to read 2. Your energy, confidence, and knowledge will grow!

4.1 Practice Exams

The goal is to reach 75-80% on the practice exams consistently before you are considered ready for the exam. If you find any weak areas, go back through the AWS lesson, labs, and even whitepapers to grow in those areas!

Getting these certifications does NOT give you the experience to do the job. It gives you an understanding of the services used in that domain.

For ex., the AWS CSA only gives you an understanding of what services Architects use to design solutions and how they can do it.
