The Road you Take. Your Money, Time and Choices
The problem with choices are that we all have our moments when we did not make the best ones. My youth was not the best at times and the no kidding things that happened can be summed up by the roads we take. One day as a teenager while in high school, I found myself face down on the median of Interstate 66 a.k.a. Interstate 44 because I chose to get into a car of my friends but did not know at first how drunk they were. It ended in a high speed chase and being pulled over and found myself laying on the bubbling hot oil rock shoulder of the road while the State Troopers took the driver to jail. So yes, the roads you take and the choices you make matter.
This led me later in life to begin the journey of self improvement in every area of life. The impacts had done their damage. At first, I tried to go it alone and try and solve everything thinking I knew it all but I didn't. I overcame that by plugging into trainings, meditation, and building a new life basically from the ground up. Self, finances, serving and mind, body, spirit.
The transformation now allows me to share that journey and the tools and methods I used and surround myself with other experts to transform the willing (yes) participants we come across in our work.
YOUR MONEY
Looking at finance first, abundance or scarcity can both be a problem. Look at what happens when someone wins the lottery or gets a big sports contract. Within years they are broke or bankrupt for living too abundantly. The opposite is also true. The lack of money affects our ability to have freedom, affects relationships and can be detrimental in many ways.
The employment problem may worsen with the AI culture being pushed in society. If robots take your job, how will you get money? Luckily if your an entrepreneur or if you own a business that they cannot do, you still have hope.
Employment after service can be very difficult. Many do not want to go back into government work at all and want to be free of that environment. Lets be honest, it is still a grind to work within those circles. Not all people want to run a business either so its a choice.
The one thing that is an absolute is money is needed. There may be people that profess that they are happy without it, a very small few but in the USA, it is needed for food, shelter, clean water and to have some quality of life.
YOUR TIME
What you do with your time carries over into what you make or do not. If you spend all of your time and money in a bar, its a pretty good assumption that in time, things are going to be rough with your health, your finances and your relationships.
However, if you spend your time planning, working on better habits, setting goals and being proactive in business and personal circles of others with those same goals, something magic happens. You begin to see progress in your bank account, your relationships improve and you take on habits that become momentum to a higher and better self.
If I have learned anything, it is that it is not a straight path. It is laden with setbacks, problems, frustration and days where you feel like nothing is going your way. It is like exercise. "Its pain leaving the body"
The decision to save, use your time better and the choice to do so starts with you. Once you are an adult. Every decision you make matters. The book "The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz, Ph.D., is a great book for changing thinking. He talks about being a excusitis which is a person that can find an excuse for everything wrong in their life and then goes on to share how to cure that. he article photo proves my years of use of my own copy that is in bad repair. One of the best books I ever invested in.
YOUR CHOICES
We use excuses any time we want to avoid action. Instead, just get busy doing. The choices chisel you into the person you are. Your behaviors matter. How you spend your time and who you spend it with matter. Every time I write an article I feel I am sharing good and bad choices I have made to show others that we are always changing, always working on ourselves. It is also what we do when things happen to us. Every event needs us to do something but it is not the event that has the power, it is the response (or choice), and that determines the outcome. It is known in the success world as E+R=O.
If you choose to wake up, be grateful for what you have, meditate, write out your goals in a place that you see them everyday, exercise and vision your future while doing all of that being fully present, you might find that those adopted habits change your whole life.
