The Road to Power: How I Will Make Tanzania a Superpower
By Ebenezer Mathew
Great nations are not born great; they are forged through vision, strategy, and relentless execution. From China’s rise as a global economic giant to Dubai’s transformation from a desert outpost into an international hub, history has shown that strategic leadership, long-term planning, and unwavering commitment can elevate a nation to greatness. I, Ebenezer Mathew, stand at the beginning of a lifelong mission: to make Tanzania a superpower that leads the world. This is not merely a dream—it is a roadmap that I will follow with precision, and in the years to come, the world will witness Tanzania’s transformation.
Laying the Foundation: Mastering Knowledge and Networks (2025-2030)
In September 2025, I will embark on my Master’s in International Relations, a critical step in understanding global diplomacy, economic policies, and strategic governance. My academic journey will go beyond coursework—it will be an immersion into the systems that shape world politics. I will specialize in International Political Economy and African Diplomacy to understand how nations gain influence through trade, strategic partnerships, and regional integration.
Simultaneously, I will master the languages of global power—Mandarin and Arabic. The ability to communicate with economic giants will position me as a bridge between Tanzania and key global players. I will also hone my skills in economic modeling, policy analysis, and trade negotiations, equipping myself with the tools to drive Tanzania’s economic policies forward.
During this phase, I will actively participate in international forums, establish relationships with key policymakers, and work on impactful projects that position me as a thought leader in Tanzania’s development narrative. Additionally, I will collaborate with think tanks and economic institutions to publish research on Africa’s role in the evolving global economy.
Executing the Strategy: Building Economic and Political Strength (2030-2040)
By 2030, my influence in regional and global economic policymaking will be firmly established. I will advocate for industrialization in Tanzania by championing policies that attract foreign direct investment, build Special Economic Zones (SEZs), and modernize infrastructure. Leveraging my networks, I will secure strategic partnerships with China, the EU, and the Middle East to drive Tanzania’s economic expansion.
Through a flagship project, I will lead an initiative focusing on STEM education and technological innovation, ensuring that Tanzania produces a workforce ready to compete globally. Our industries will no longer be mere suppliers of raw materials but centers of manufacturing, technology, and advanced services. By establishing world-class research institutions, we will foster homegrown innovation that places Tanzania at the forefront of scientific advancements.
Politically, I will position myself in Tanzania’s governance system—whether through strategic advisory roles or direct leadership—shaping policies that foster a self-sufficient, innovative, and globally competitive nation. My goal is to integrate Tanzania deeper into global trade agreements, ensuring our economy is not just stable but dominant.

Furthermore, I will champion policies that promote intra-African trade, making Tanzania the heart of a new economic corridor connecting Africa with global markets. By strengthening our legal and financial systems, we will create an environment that attracts investors and solidifies Tanzania’s reputation as an economic powerhouse.
Asserting Global Influence: Tanzania’s Leadership Role (2040-2050)
By 2040, Tanzania will no longer be a regional player—it will be a force in global decision-making. At this stage, I will hold a national leadership position, implementing policies that elevate Tanzania’s influence in world affairs. We will have built robust industries, secured energy independence, and established a knowledge-based economy that innovates rather than imitates.
On the global stage, Tanzania will take a firm stance in shaping policies at the UN, WTO, and AU, ensuring Africa is no longer a subject of global politics but a major player setting the agenda. By strengthening our military capabilities, technological advancements, and diplomatic influence, Tanzania will take its place among the world's leading nations.
A key component of this phase will be Tanzania’s role in international peacekeeping and security. By leading diplomatic negotiations, mediating global conflicts, and enhancing military capabilities, we will contribute to global stability while cementing Tanzania’s authority in international politics.
Moreover, Tanzania will become an energy leader in Africa, investing in renewable energy and positioning itself as a supplier of clean, sustainable power. We will establish partnerships with international energy firms to develop a cutting-edge energy sector that fuels industrialization and technological progress.
The Legacy: “I Told You So” (2050 and Beyond)
By 2050, when historians document the rise of Tanzania, my name will be synonymous with the country’s transformation. The roadmap I have laid out is not a wishful dream—it is a calculated plan that will be executed with discipline and precision. Every initiative, every partnership, and every policy will be a building block toward Tanzania’s global dominance.
Tanzania will have thriving megacities, a fully industrialized economy, and a robust international presence. Our youth will be equipped with world-class education, and our industries will be globally competitive. We will have a military and intelligence infrastructure that ensures national security and a foreign policy that commands respect on the global stage.
I will have built institutions that last beyond my lifetime, ensuring that the principles of economic strength, innovation, and international diplomacy continue to drive Tanzania forward. And when the world looks back and asks, “How did Tanzania become a superpower?” my answer will be simple: I told you so.
