Road To Opportunities

One day, I noticed my friend's status while casually browsing on my way to the office who has opened a new office and is facilitating an orientation session for recent college graduates.First of all, I was thrilled to see him launch his own business—something many people are still considering—and I really wished him luck in doing so.?

Simultaneously, I had a thought that it would have been wonderful if he invited me to the session so that I could deliver my public speaking debut. But I refrained from asking as it had been a while since I had spoken to him, and I thought it wouldn't be appropriate to simply go right in.

On Saturday, the following day, I received a ping from him asking if I would be able to address those graduates about any subject you are familiar with. I was shocked. I was reminded of a quote from the book Alchemist."And when you have a desire. The cosmos works together to support you in achieving it. “

Keeping all my joy aside, I said "yes" right away and asked him for further information about the orientation.Since I'm not a last-minute man, I started preparing early because the session is the following weekend. I chose to complete my presentation pack in chunks daily.?

In life many thing’s don’t go according to the plan, try to remember that everything happens for a reason. On Thursday of that same week, my daughter was admitted to the hospital, and I had to stay with her for the following four days. To me, My daughter's recovery is my top priority, so I went ahead and made sure everything was set up for her. But my desire to participate in the session was still present in my thoughts.?

When someone has an unwavering will, nothing is impossible. With my wife's assistance, I made the decision to go to the session on Saturday since my daughter was improving, assuming that her condition remained constant. Even though my wife??explicitly agreed to manage, any husband can sense what his partner is thinking just by looking at her eyes. She isn't quite satisfied with my decision. However I strongly believed that I can manage the situation and prepared the presentation material for the next day's session from the hospital.

? I set out on my journey from the hospital early the following day. The journey takes about two hours and is quite distant from the hospital. It takes considerably longer than i anticipate to get there because I have never been there before and I have to utilize public transportation because my own vehicle isn't in the hospital. I've finally arrived at the organization, and when I look around, I’m the only one there.

I excitedly await the arrival of the participants and the participants entered one by one. The session begins at ten o'clock, We had a variety of technology expertise, and I went with the general topic. My presentation was parked last because we presumed, younger graduates are more interested in technological topics. For those who showed up, the program began both virtually and physically. Do you know how many people we had with us? There were just five of us in person, and a few others were sporadically joining us digitally.

I had several spontaneous questions,?Is it truly worth participating in the session? Is it really necessary to travel this far? Does my wife really need to be left alone in the hospital to handle this situation? I calmed??myself and told that,?it doesn't matter how many people exist, how far you travel, or how much you sacrifice. Your purpose today is defined by the value you bring to a single student;

While my thoughts were running, the technical?session lasted for two hours after each expert began speaking. In my opinion, any session lasts longer than thirty to forty-five minutes will be difficult for participants to concentrate, unless different engagement strategies are used. How would people?especially the students?feel if your session was at the last? When the technical experts were about to end the session, many began to feel exhausted.?

While I was considering ways to energize myself. The organizer muttered "Can we finish your talk in five minutes?” as we are about to go over the allotted time, Even if my content is 30 minutes long, cutting it down to 5 minutes lets me only state the title and "Thank you."?

When it was finally my turn, someone was about to depart. She agreed when I asked if she could spare a few minutes. My only concern was how to add value to those five individuals in the shortest amount of time possible. After gathering all my bravery, I started?my first speech in English, for which I had prepared thoroughly. But ultimately, what matters is the value you bring to the people, not what you enjoy doing. For this reason, I switched the language of my speech to be my mother tongue, believing that influence from native speakers cannot be matched by any foreign language.

? Using my presentation pack, I began talking to people slowly. As I did so, the person who was going to leave began to ask questions and expressed curiosity in my topic. The individual who had always been interested in mobile was giving it his all focus. I made every effort to leave an impression on those five people that would help them succeed in their future careers. Upon my eventual conclusion, someone approached me right away and requested the pack, which is devoid of any technical details.

I was relieved to realize that I had indeed had an influence on those five individuals. In the middle of all of this, a technical expert stood up?and said, "It really motivated me and I have to get rid of few things based on your speech." That was the outcome of my first speech victory.

Many may now wonder whether it's actually necessary and why you're bragging about it.? Does this session holds greater significance than the child's health and well-being?.I just have one thing to say: opportunity. Opportunities? will not rap on the door twice. As I mentioned in the Alchemist quotation, when you pursue something with all of your might, the universe works together to make it happen with minimal difficulty. Your determination and resilience are what make the outcome successful.?

While I worked toward my objective of creating content?and giving public speeches. One of the best opportunities I've ever had is this one. I could have simply declined and moved away, waiting for another opportunity, but that's not how opportunities operate. ?

In my instance, my daughter's problem can be handled without my presence considering her condition is stable. Ultimately, I was able to deliver my first speech to a whole new audience because I took a calculated risk and went ahead with the session.?

Think about the same circumstance. Saying "no" would have prevented me from learning about the company my friend founded, from networking with other technical experts, from giving my first speech, from passing on my knowledge to upcoming experts, and so on.?

The same applies to everyone; if you are lazy, hesitant, indecisive, or procrastinate, you will miss out on a lot of opportunities. It would be gone, and you wouldn't realize that we would be looking elsewhere for additional opportunities.Never hesitate to try something new and its absolutely fine , even if we fail.? Every little victory is a triumph, and every little step toward your objective matters. Take pride in the actions you took to get where you are today.?

This doesn't end here by the way. Last week, same?friend gave me a call and asked if I would be interested in speaking to 120 students at an engineering college. This is how opportunities and networking come together. You already know how I would respond to him. I'm not sure if the session will take place the following week, if I'll be able to make it, and if I'll face any new challenges. Nevertheless, I continue to be ready for next week because I don't want to miss any chances. What about you?
