So tonight I was supposed to be talking about how I photographed Liam Gallagher for the first time and it was great. But, then again it's Liam Gallagher. Not too surprising he canceled. Liam is as reliable as Ms. Lauryn Hill. So instead here is a photograph of Eric Gales who happens to play often in Lauryn Hill's band.
About 5 years ago I won a photo competition and stayed away from all competitions since. Funny how as much as I want to be involved in the music awards and photograph them but I do not want to be involved in photo awards. The past two months that has changed because multiple people reached out to me wanting me to enter. Some of them just suggested but a majority wanted me to participate. Of course, the most difficult part is picking a photograph to enter. When I found out that I could enter any photograph, this is the one. This Eric Gales photograph is one of my favorites. The moment, angle, lighting, and music seemed perfect when I clicked the button. This photograph also has a ridiculous story leading up to the moment. Only 6 people know the story. The editor of Guitar Connoisseur Magazine, who I was photographing Eric Gales for, loves when I tell the story. So, if I win this said competition I will publically tell the full story.
