On the Road with DVS
It’s certainly been an amazing year for me at DVSAnalytics. We started the second week of January on the road, meeting with reseller partners, customers, analysts and consultants. It has simply been fantastic. Along this journey, we've used every form of transportation from planes, trains and automobiles, to Skype calls, webinars, group chats, digital meetings and virtual trade shows.
Talk, Chat, Email
Tools for easy communication and collaboration have never been more plentiful. No matter the size of your team or organization, there are a wealth of options. Throw in the multitude of relationship management platforms, and the ease of making contact and the opportunities presented by these contacts become even more amazing and productive.
The Power of a Handshake
The most important and effective form of meeting for me, and something that I don't think I’ll ever want to replace, is the face-to-face meeting. Call me old school, but I built my professional career around personal and business relationships.
Most of my professional relationships truly began with a face-to-face meeting and a handshake. Granted, you can't always do that, so I'm also a firm believer in the digital world. I know our communication technologies are getting better every day. And I am witnessing an interesting trend.
Software Relationships
These new digital communication tools are lowering borders and expanding opportunities for every organization, both as sellers and buyers. With the global selection of products and services available in the marketplace, relationships become of paramount importance, from the individual customer experience to deals involving thousands of users and complex business agreements.
Business runs on relationships. We all know that. Relationships that develop over time tend to deepen, building a level of trust that, so far, had been difficult to attain from a purely digital approach. The new tools we are using today enable us to start the relationship and accomplish more in a shorter amount of time.
By the time we can meet face-to-face, a lot of the groundwork has already been set. Which gets us to the handshake, and sealing new business deals and growth of all kinds. A face-to-face meeting and a simple handshake remain the premiere ritual of mutual agreement and promise between two people.
A Future of Virtual Meetings
We’ll be holding an important Virtual Tradeshow in November with a business partner. We’ll be meeting literally hundreds of businesses from all over the world. The outcome of this event will surely result in new opportunities and initiate new relationships for myself and DVSAnalytics.
The future is wide open.
