Road to COTA: Relaxation, History, and Excitement Ahead

Road to COTA: Relaxation, History, and Excitement Ahead

One of the perks of traveling between NASCAR events is the opportunity to explore new places and enjoy some downtime along the way. After an exciting week at Daytona and the Cup Series moving on to Atlanta, we began our journey toward Austin, Texas, for the upcoming NASCAR Kids Zone activation at Circuit of the Americas (COTA). The road trip between events gave us a chance to relax, experience a bit of history, and recharge before diving into another weekend of fun and excitement for young NASCAR fans.

Our first stop was Louisiana, where we set up camp at a Kampgrounds of America, Inc. campground. While we were hoping to enjoy more outdoor activities, the weather had other plans. With chilly temperatures limiting our time outside, we decided to continue our journey to San Antonio, Texas.

Arriving in San Antonio, we were greeted with cold and rainy weather, which initially seemed like it might put a damper on our plans. However, the skies eventually cleared, and we were treated to a beautiful day with temperatures nearing 70 degrees—perfect for exploring the city. We took advantage of the sunshine and visited the Alamo, which happened to be commemorating the 189th anniversary of the historic Battle of the Alamo. It was a powerful experience to walk the grounds and learn more about this pivotal moment in American history. The city’s rich heritage and vibrant atmosphere made our stay in San Antonio a memorable one.

On Monday morning, we’ll pack up and head to East Austin, where we’ll stay at another KOA campground located about 13 miles from COTA. KOA campgrounds have been a great home base during our travels, offering comfortable amenities and convenient locations that make it easy to relax and unwind between events. With a few days to explore Austin, we’re looking forward to discovering what the city has to offer before we shift gears and focus on creating another unforgettable experience for kids at the NASCAR Kids Zone.

The upcoming activation at COTA is shaping up to be an exciting one. Building on the success of our Daytona 500 event, which featured popular attractions like the LEGO wall and fast RC cars, we’re bringing the same energy and enthusiasm to Austin. Our goal is to provide a space where young fans can engage with NASCAR in a fun and interactive way, sparking their passion for racing and inspiring the future champions of tomorrow. Each event is a chance to introduce kids to the excitement of NASCAR, and we’re dedicated to making each experience even better than the last.

Traveling between events offers more than just a change of scenery—it’s an opportunity to recharge, connect with different communities, and gain new perspectives that enrich the work we do. From the quiet moments of relaxation at KOA campgrounds to the historic lessons learned at places like The Alamo, every stop along the way adds to the journey. As we gear up for COTA, we’re excited to bring that energy and inspiration to the kids and families who will join us for another weekend of racing, fun, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the event, and we hope to see you at the NASCAR Kids Zone at COTA!
