The Road to Alpha

I often get asked by friends and clients alike different questions about the markets, how to become an astute investor how to make money off the markets. Few years ago I used to spend endless time in explaining the mechanisms that I sought fit, the way I tried and still trying to make a difference. 

I am a small time Wealth Manager and Trader compared to the Gurus that populate Wall Street concerning the invested capital. But, otherwise I spent thousands of hours working on my craft, read countless books and gained valuable insights. I am a firm believer that you can get an edge by studying the markets, studying past conditions and you can gain from fundamental analysis and technical approach alike. But you must do your work with due diligence. I used to have a job at an Investment bank in the past and I still used to get up at 5 A.M just to cover several pages from another investment book, after which I went to work and always skipped lunch in order to get a coffee and some time with another book. Yes, of course, no relationships, no time for friends and other "important" gatherings but, oh well, I am on the road to Alpha. 

So, after every question that I got in the past on how to get rich fast I recommended and even borrowed books from my personal collection after which I was always interested on the impact it made on them. The truth is that, as of now, I know not one single person that read an entire book of investing I borrowed them.  

It takes a man a long time to learn all the lessons of all his mistakes.
