The road ahead ..
After eight years, 200,000+ emails, countless hours of meetings and business trips (remember those!?), eight Sibos’, many, many marketing campaigns and some colleagues that will be dearly missed my time at Swift came to a close recently.
The ‘road ahead’ led me to Blue Prism, one of the most exciting and successful UK headquartered technology businesses that has ever been launched - for the fourth consecutive year they have reported the fastest revenue growth of all large UK public software companies.
Whilst our boiler plate will tell you that our mission is to unleash the collaborative potential of humans and digital workers to transform the future of work, so every enterprise can exceed their business goals and drive growth with unmatched agility, scale and speed – as is the case so very often its what you find on the inside that really matters!
Just days in, I find a group of highly energised, passionate, kind and sharing colleagues – all with one thing in common – we are chasing something!
Its a rare moment where the boilerplate meets reality, and speaks volumes for a strong emerging corporate culture and the opportunities we have in our reach as a collective team, the human race is on the precipice of a fundamental shift in skill requirements for the future.
Not focused on history, but laser focused on this future, a future that looks a lot less certain for society than the one we had mapped out before.. the onboarding experience has been slick, and I am set up to add immediate value inside of a couple of hours.
With recent and ongoing events the future of work will undoubtedly change, with governments, advisors and companies all grappling with the realities of how to come out of lockdown we look to be destined for a relatively long period of time trying to balance business and economic needs, with a critical focus on wellbeing, health and practical concerns.
Our proposition is simple – digital workers allow humans to focus on what matters, and at such a critical time in history – this is more important than ever, and our client engagements through-out the crisis prove that our value proposition is relevant, and iron clad.
With Blue Prism For Good - we have stood by our core aims, to aid enterprises to scale out their workforce through the donation of hundreds of software robots to help critical industries – like the NHS where our software is being used to manage bed capacities, cleaning rotas, and the distribution of PPE (amongst many other things).
I am thankful, excited, energised, enabled and eager to make a difference to our clients and colleagues, as we all grapple with the impacts we are feeling, and focus on building a future we can all realise - where humans and technology can combine to cross some difficult chasms yet to come.
