Elections have consequences.?

This week’s elections are consequential for the work to which we’ve committed our lives, and for the communities that we serve.??

It’s important to hold space for how we feel about the results. In my conversations with many of you across the country, I know the deep uncertainty that exists within our industry and our communities.??

This week, it’s an uncertainty that I sit with.? I come back, however, to things about which I am certain.??

We are made for this moment.???

It’s not a slogan. It’s a fact – one directly traceable to the pioneers of our work. They came from movements that provide us the strength, determination, and resilience that now makes us stronger.?

Our industry is tested and, looking at the road ahead, we must remain steadfast in our focus on ensuring that we protect our ideals and the gains that the community development finance industry has achieved alongside communities over these last 40 years.?

Opportunity Finance Network has been preparing for the possibility of political and policy uncertainty. As we have throughout our history, we will remain steadfast in our commitment to our mission. As we have shown stakeholders of all political stripes, our impact is undeniable. As we have done throughout our journey, we will demonstrate the proof of our founding idea – that our conditions can be better, that capital can be a force for good.??

We are made for this moment and we will meet it, together.?
