RMIT: Do they understand diversity?
As some of you may know, I have an interest in a Skincare business called Skin Naturalé which is run by my wife Lynn Ross. Previous to this, she was an Associate Partner at BECA and built a career in the people and culture domain. So she certainly understands the diversity space quite well. In fact, it was the lack of support for diversity in the Australian skincare market that fuelled her passion for wanting to make a small dent in the world (you can read more about that here).
But besides being a mum-trepreneur, and living the dream of having a flexible business and juggling children, she had a desire to give back to the world in more ways than financially supporting charities. Education was a core theme in the business, and being able to support this is ongoing.
This year, for the 2nd year in a row, we have teamed up with RMIT university to open up our business for "interpretation". The Online Marketing subject headed by Professor Peter Guenther was tasked with the challenge of describing the diversity elements in our skincare range, as well as compiling a message which could go viral.
What we discovered when presented with this opportunity is that not too many organisations like the idea of class of students playing with their brand, but we saw this as an opportunity to give our time to support education, and have some fun too.
.......And here's where you can contribute. The students will be graded on the final outputs and performance, so please view, comment, like and share what you think has merit. Their grades depend on it!

9 年Thanks Jannie Mcleod. If you know and other businesses or projects that we could inject into RMIT's industry based learning, then let me know. Very rewarding experience indeed.
