Riyadh: New Murabba reveals Stadium design for FIFA World Cup 2034

The stadium will be able to seat 45,000 spectators and is set to be completed by the end of 2032

The New Murabba Development Company revealed the plans for an upcoming world-class football stadium to be built at the new downtown destination megaproject in Riyadh.

The stadium will be able to seat 45,000 spectators and is set to be completed by the end of 2032, well ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2034, which the kingdom expects to host.

In a set of renders released by the company, the design is inspired by layered overlapping planes and peeling planar texture of the native acacia tree, blending traditional motifs with modern, innovative design.

The stadium will feature cutting-edge sporting technology, creating an immersive and personalized fan experience. The stadium will be a vibrant community hub featuring illuminated entry points and shaded spaces for gathering and socialising.

The stadium is designed with long-term use after the World Cup in mind, allowing it to be adapted for a range of events beyond sports, gaming competitions and exhibitions.

“The New Murabba Stadium embodies our commitment to transforming Riyadh into a global destination for sports and entertainment,”said Michael Dyke, CEO of New Murabba Development Company. “The stadium will not only be a world-class venue for sporting events but also a vibrant community hub that enhances the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.”
