RIVERINA & CENTRAL WEST ROADS UPDATE

Here are the latest available road closures due to flooding and rain damage. Please check with your local Council or at livetraffic.com for the most up-to-date road conditions.

Bland Shire

Road Closures due to flooding:-

Morangarell Road – between Quandialla Road and Mary Gilmore Way;

Bena Road – at Humbug Creek Crossing.

Roads temporarily closed to all traffic due to pavement damage:-

Quandialla Road – between Newell Highway and Weddin Shire boundary;

Girral Road – between West Wyalong Condobolin Road and Blow Clear Road;

Gordons Lane – between Clear Ridge Road and Blands Lane;

Uncle Bills Road – from Blow Clear Road;

Wyrra Lane – between Clear Ridge Road and Wamboyne Road;

Wargin Road – between Hollands Lane and Blundens Lane;

Alleena Road – between Newell Highway and Bellarwi Road;

Bolygamy Road – between Browns Lane and Merrengreen Road;

Jillett Road – between Richards Lane and Kittos Lane.

Motorists should use extreme caution if travelling on Kolkilbertoo Road north of the intersection with Genista Road. Speed is limited to 40km/h at this location. Kolkilbertoo Road is closed to vehicles over three tonne until further notice.

Motorists should use extreme caution if travelling on Mandamah Forest Road at Scotts Creek Crossing due to pavement damage at the causeway approaches.

The side track at the bridge on Darbys Falls Road remains damaged. Council is monitoring the creek level and will commence work to repair the temporary side track as soon as creek water levels drop to allow work. In the meantime, all traffic will continue to be detoured via Sydney Rd, Kangaroo Flat Rd and Porters Mount Rd. All roads are sign-posted with detour signs.

Forbes

Escort Way, Forbes to Orange – CLOSED between Forbes and Eugowra. Detour via Parkes.

Lachlan Valley Way, Forbes to Cowra – CLOSED. Detour via Newell Hwy and Mid Western Hwy.

Henry Lawson Way, Forbes to Grenfell – CLOSED. Detour via Newell Hwy and Mid Western Hwy.

Henry Parkes Way, Parkes to Condobolin – OPEN. Water over road in various locations, proceed with caution

The Bogan Way, Forbes to Bogan Gate – OPEN. Water over road, proceed with caution.

New Grenfell Road remains open with water over road.

Wirrinya Road – CLOSED at the Dog & Duck Floodway

Yarrabandai Road – CLOSED

Bedgerebong Road and South Condobolin Road remain closed.

Due to the current wet conditions, all unsealed roads in the Parkes Shire are closed to vehicles over three tonnes, except school buses, emergency vehicles and Council road plant. This restriction will be reviewed on 17 October

River Road is closed to through traffic at Houlaghans Creek and at the creek crossing to the east of Siselys Road

The following roads are closed to all traffic due to flooding:

Gerrybang Road (Closed to small vehicles between Bembricks Lane and Mogongong Road)

Murrays Lane at the corner of Berrys Road.

Morangarell Rd - between Quandialla Rd and Mary Gilmore Way.

The following roads are temporarily closed to all traffic until necessary repairs to the road pavement can be carried out:

Ballendene Road – at Sandy Creek Road and Forbes Shire Boundary

Hancock - Flinn Road – Ballendene Road end.

The following roads are partially closed to all traffic:

Adelargo Road – Gooloogong Road end

Heathcotes Lane – off Mary Gilmore Way

Bourks Street – between Gooloogong Road and Forbes Street.

The following roads have water over the road - travel with caution:

Bimbi - Thuddungra Road (reduce speed damaged pavement)

The following roads have opened but have reduced speed due to recent flooding - travel with caution:

Please be advised that all unsealed roads within the Weddin Shire Council area are closed to vehicles over three tonnes and will be reviewed on 14 October. School buses, Emergency Services and Council road repair plant are exempt, subject to normal risk assessment by individual operators.
